Biography

Thomas McCarthy constructeur de bateau avec ses deux frères Daniel et John en 1839. Il a été milicien de Sorel 1865-1867. Député Conservateur de Richelieu en 1867-1870. Préfet de Comté en 1862.Conseiller à la Ville de Sorel en 1863. Il est né en 1832 à Cork Irlande fils de John et Élisabeth Hearn. Décédé le 23 septembre 1870 à Sorel. Époux de Marie-Emma Tunstall. (3) Les McCarthy doivent faire élever dans le cimetière sur les tombes des membres défunts de leur famille un monument qui coutera plusieurs des piastres en octobre 1884.
