Son père David See négociant et marchand baptisé le 10 février 1793 à St-Andrew presbytérien, fils de John David loyaliste à Sorel et de Magdalena Snyder de Phillipsburg de New-York, marié à Sarah Catherine Wood vers 1818 à Cornwall en Ontario. David See s'est engagé comme agent dans les compagnies suivantes : The Montreal Tow Boat Company à Sorel en 1822 et, The Hercules British American à Sorel en 1831. On le retrouvait aussi dans le recensement de Sorel en 1831. Il y avait acheté plusieurs lots à William Henry (Sorel) pour la construction navale. David See construisait une maison de bois et avec un hangar sur ce lot 194(686) aux coins des rues de la Reine et Charlotte à Sorel. Il y a demeuré soit de 1822 à 1835. David See a quitté la ville de Sorel pour l'Ontario après 1835. Il est décédé au Lancaster en Ontario avant 1861
