Orphelin dès l'âge de 12 ans. Fait son entrainement dans l'armée américaine après la 2è guerre mondiale. Devint machiniste de métier. Se marie, se construit sur le chemin des Patriotes près de Sorel, devient père de 3 enfants. Travaillera pour la Compagnie Stelco de Contrecoeur jusqu'à sa retraite. développera un intérêt pour l'ornithologie jusqu'à son dernier repos .
